About the position

Council’s Community Relations team is looking for a full-time Communications Officer responsible for developing and delivering engaging, timely and impactful communications across digital and traditional channels for Frankston City Council.

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • Creating communication plans and strategies for external and internal projects.
  • Providing communications support for projects and services, as well as engagement and advocacy programs
  • Content development and speechwriting 
  • Working with local and metropolitan media

About you

The right person for the role will have:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Proven organisational skills, including ability to meet deadlines while working in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in delivering impactful communications plans and strategies
  • Experience working in complex stakeholder environments
  • Experience in managing media issues and opportunities
  • Experience in working in a local or state government organisation.

This position is a Band 6A currently remunerated at $98,130.72 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
