About the role 

Council’s Operations Department are looking for a Cleansing Officer who will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing infrastructures and assets, throughout the Frankston municipality in accordance with works and management programs.

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • Sweeping, brush cutting, minor chemical and graffiti removal;
  • Performing all civil infrastructure maintenance tasks and repairs in accordance with works programs and management systems. Works will include, Parks Infrastructure, asphalt, pit, concrete and minor civil repairs across roads signage and drainage areas;
  • Assessing work to be undertaken and estimate quantities of materials required;
  • Operating and maintaining various items of plant and equipment in accordance with Council’s Safety Procedures;
  • Ensuring all tools, vehicles and equipment are used correctly, maintained in a safe operational condition and all hazards/defects are reported to the Team Leader;
  • Undertaking basic audits, risk assessments and in conjunction with Team Leader, implement solutions to ensure public safety at all times; and
  • Maintaining accurate records of completed tasks as required by the Team Leader.

This is a Full-Time role working 8.44 hours a day across a 9 day fortnight. 

About you

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Current Driver Licence;
  • Construction or trades related industry experience;
  • Industry experience in roads, signage and drainage maintenance;
  • Experience in the use of a variety of tools, plant and mechanical equipment relating to civil maintenance;
  • Previous customer service experience; and
  • An understanding of safe work practices.

This position is a Band 2 currently remunerated at $65,336 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
