An exciting opportunity exists within the Business Information Technology Team at Frankston City Council for a Team Leader Network and Cyber Security.

About the position

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the Network Administrator and Systems Administrator activities ensuring BAU and project work is prioritized and delivered.
  • Driving innovation and improvements to Councils IT infrastructure providing a clear upgrade path and direction particularly with cloud and emerging technologies.
  • Lead the design and delivery of strategic programs to mitigate the likelihood and impact of a cyber-security incident across both information technology and operational technology.
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of Councils strategic roadmap for Network and Infrastructure.
  • Oversee the delivery of Council’s disaster recovery planning and execution including regular simulated failover testing and the upkeep of related policies and procedures.

About you

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Detailed knowledge of networking, cloud solutions, IT security principles, and experience in managing enterprise-grade technical environments.
  • Experience in leading and motivating technical teams, managing complex technical environments, including HCI, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
  • Strong expertise in cybersecurity, particularly in designing and implementing strategic programs to prevent and mitigate cyber incidents. Proficiency in firewall administration, network optimization, cloud technologies, and emerging security trends is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft products at an E3 level, disaster recovery testing, project management skills in both waterfall and agile methodologies, and a track record of building positive relationships with vendors and Managed Service Providers (MSPs); and
  • While not mandatory, formal qualifications like a Bachelor's degree in IT, diplomas, or technical certifications such as CCNA or Cloud certifications are desirable for the position.

This position is a Band 7 remunerated between $109,416.26 to $121,988.12 per annum (pro rata) plus superannuation.
